Is tonight Italian night in your house? Well, no Italian meal would be complete without a perfect garlic bread. Not to worry, I totally have you covered. You have to try this amazing cheesy herby bread. It’s crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, ideal for soaking up sauces. Now, I can’t take full credit for this recipe. But I loved it so much that I wanted to share it. What’s so amazing about this easy to make bread is the mellow flavor of the garlic that you get from slowing boiling vs roasting.

Ingredients:Cheesy Yummy Herb Garlic Bread

  • 1 bulb garlic, cloves separated and skins removed
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 loaf Italian bread, split
  • 1 cup Parmesan, freshly grated
  • ¼ cup parsley, chopped
  • 2 TBSP thyme, chopped
  • pepper

Directions:

Preheat boiler on oven.

Simmer the garlic cloves in the skins in a small pot of water over medium heat for about 20 minutes. Place butter and cloves into a small food processor. Add a pinch of pepper and pulse until garlic is blended into the butter.

Slather with the garlic butter and top with the cheese and herbs. Place the bread in the oven to brown the cheese and crisp the bread. BESURE TO WATCH IT, this happens quick and you don’t want to burn the bread.

I am not the best in the kitchen so I must rely on what others do and then I try a twist so that it is better accepted by my TUMMY.

When I make garlic bread I use equal amounts of butter and extra virgin olive oil- 1/2 C each. Garlic depending on what you love and I love garlic so I press about 4-6 cloves. Then comes the oregano and parsley, 1 tea each, Salt and fresh ground pepper.

There is research out that shows that starches do not easily become fat on the thighs when olive oil is used with them.
