These Asian inspired cuties only look complicated, but they’re super easy-to-make and so much better than the ones you find on the Chinese take-out menus. Each little wonton is bursting with crab and cheese. Talk about yummo!

Crab Wonton Ingredients:Crab Wontons with Sweet and Sour Sauce

  • 1/2 lbs lump crab meat
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened in room temperature
  • 3 scallions, finely chopped (save a few for garnish)
  • 1 tsp. Worchester sauce
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. wonton wrapper
  • vegetable oil – about 2 cups

Sweet and Sour Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup duck sauce
  • 1 tbsp. plum sauce
  • 1 tsp. rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • red pepper flakes – just a pinch

Preheat oil in a pot with high edges, over medium heat.

In a large mixing bowl, combine ingredients (except wonton wrappers and oil). Mix into a lumpy paste.

Place teaspoonful of filling in middle of a wonton wrapper. Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with water. Fold the two ends of the wonton wrapper together. Fold the other two ends to make a tiny pouch. Press all edges to seal.

Fry the wontons for 1 – 2 minutes on each side or until golden crispy. Drain the excess oil on a paper towel and serve the wontons warm.

Mix all Sweet and Sour Sauce ingredients together in a small prep bowl. Pour sauce to the bottom of your serving bowl and nestle wontons on top. Garnish with extra scallions.
