I came up with this recipe to serve at CookingShorts’ one year anniversary party. They were a big hit and gobbled up within minutes!

If you’re dieting or watching your sugar and carbs, this recipe can totally be adjusted to fit your dietary needs. Look for a low sugar oatmeal mix and a sugar free chai, which will reduce the sugar and carb intake. You can also also swap the butter for margarine or a lower calorie and fat option.

Remember that every diet needs an occasional break, so you can always make the recipe as directed and just know that everything is fine in moderation.

Ingredients: Oh My Sweet Chai Cookies

  • 1 17.5 oz. oatmeal cookie mix
  • 1 cup spiced or vanilla chai
  • 1 slick butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 egg
  • sprinkles for garnish

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375. In a large bowl add cookie mix, chai, butter, water and egg. Combine together with a hand mixer until a dough forms. Using a medium sized cookie dough scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Top each cookie with your favorite sprinkle. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges of the cookies are set. Remove from baking sheet to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely. Plate and enjoy or wrap in parchment paper and tie with a pretty bow as a gift.
