Orange Sage Chicken

If your home is like mine, then you eat a lot of chicken.  As a result, I’m always trying new ways to cook up a chicken breast other than the traditional herb chicken.  There’s nothing wrong with herb chicken, we love it, but after having it so frequently, I try my best to come up with alternative chicken recipes.  This Orange Sage Chicken recipe is easy to prepare, doesn’t require a lot of ingredients and is delicious.  Try it for yourself and let me know if you liked it!

Ingredients:Orange Sage Chicken

  • 6 chicken tenderloins or 2 chicken breast, cut into 3rds
  • 1 orange, juiced and zested
  • 1 small bunch of fresh sage
  • olive oil
  • butter
  • salt & pepper 


Remove chicken from fridge about 10 minutes prior to cooking.

Season both sides of your tenderloins with salt and pepper. Preheat a skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil and a pat of butter. Bundle sage together with kitchen twine and add to the oil. Allow to cook until the sage leaves become crispy and the oil is infused with the sage. Remove the sage and add tenderloins.

 Brown tenderloins on each side – 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the leaves for from the sage and save as a garnish. Keep an eye on the chicken, because they are so small, they cook quickly. Check the temperature and make sure to cook to an internal temperature of 165.

Once the chicken reaches about 150, deglaze the pan with the juice from your orange. Allow the juice to reduce down for another few mintues. Transfer chicken to serving bowl and pour the remaining juice down over top. Garnish with a sprinkle of the zest and the crispy sage leaves. Enjoy!
