Teriyaki Glazed Salmon

We absolutely love salmon; it’s our favorite fish and we eat a ton of it! Salmon offers a lot of health benefits such as Omega-3 oils. It’s also protein packed, which will help all of us keep our waistlines in check. Try this awesome recipe today and I promise that salmon will be in your weekly dinner rotation.

Ingredients:Teriyaki Glazed Salmon

  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 center cut fillets of wild caught salmon
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 shallot, sliced into rounds

Directions:

Place your two fillets of salmon in a gallon sized zip lock bag. Add ¾ cup of the teriyaki sauce to the bag, seal and refrigerate. Allow the salmon to marinate for about 10 – 30 minutes if possible.

In the meantime, preheat your oven to 450. Line a cookie sheet with foil and place the marinated salmon in the oven for about 12 minutes. At the 12 minute mark, pull the salmon out of the oven and turn on the top boiler (high). Add the shallot rings and the remaining ¼ cup of the teriyaki sauce to the salmon. Place the salmon back in the oven under the broiler for 3-5 minutes until the top of the salmon begins to slightly caramelize and the shallots start to brown. Watch it carefully; the salmon can easily burn. My husband likes the edges of his salmon to be slightly crunchy, so I leave his fish under the broiler for a little longer than mine. Garnish with sesame seeds. You can even add a little scallion for a pop of green color to your plate.
