Vanilla Crème Pie Tartlets

Crème pie tartlets have become one of our favorite go-to desserts. We almost always have these simple ingredients on hand, which can be mixed up a hundred different ways. They only take around 5 minutes to assemble and each tartlet is only about 30 calories.

Vanilla Crème Pie Tartlets

Ingredients:Vanilla Crème Pie Tartlets

  • 1 box of vanilla instant pudding
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 package of mini phyllo shells
  • 1/2 cup of whipped topping – packaged or homemade
  • 3 strawberries, thinly sliced
  • ground cinnamon, just a pinch or two for garnish

In a small bowl, whisk your pudding mix with your milk for about 2 minutes, just until the mixture absorbs the milk and there are no lumps. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for an hour. Preheat your oven to 300. Place your phyllo shells on a baking sheet and place in the oven for 10-15 minutes – just until they start to brown. Remove and allow to cool for about 15 minutes.

Spoon your pudding into a zip top plastic bag. Zip the top and snip one of the bottom end points to create a piping bag. If you have a piping bag or an icing pipe, you can use those as well. Pipe the pudding into each cup by creating a swirl, like soft serve ice cream. Follow the same method with your whipped topping. Finish each little tartlet by tucking a few slices of strawberries into the whipped topping. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

See – it’s that easy to make a simple recipe, very elegant. Enjoy!

I made these for dessert (literally took me 3 minutes to assemble, super easy) and my kids couldn’t get enough of them! We split them evenly and we each got 5 tartlets. Only 130 calories, plus a serving of fruit. Soooo good!
